To make my campaign effective, I will undertake further comparative project research and user research. I will do this to understand how other universities have celebrated their own various anniversaries and what made these campaigns effective on the public and students as well as identify successful visual communication techniques which will have the aim of provoking my target audience into participation. I will aim to create the campaign in a way that encourages the audience I have chosen, particularly current students and residents of Hull, to engage in celebrations. I will also aim to consider alumni, staff and the community as a whole to ensure that the campaign appeals to people who might not have as direct of a connection to Hull University but still want to be considered in the celebrations. When thinking of a plan I decided I want my research to compare how other campaigns, similar to the one I wish to create, have included history, heritage and achievements as when considering research I have already done, I have found that focusing on past accomplishments can encourage a population to strive to achieve more. I believe this will be key in my campaign as the main ideologies behind many universities focus on research and creativity and I would like to show these aspects within my work and eventually my completed campaign. I would also like to explore a bit more on how other campaigns have used both digital and print materials as I like the idea of the two working together and complimenting each other to represent how the older ideas that have come around during the 100 years of Hull University can complement a newer and more modern design which the younger students, who take up the majority, can relate to and understand more due to their preference for digital media.
